The Oakton DO 600 Meter is a handheld dissolved oxygen (DO) and temperature meter with automatic or manual temperature compensation and a backlit multiline graphic LCD screen. It takes a galvanic probe (sold separately), which has built-in temperature compensation and takes measurements immediately, without warmup time. The meter can store up to 500 data sets and has an Infrared Data Association (IrDA) wireless interface for downloading data to a PC. The meter has password protection for calibration and setup data, and the real-time clock for time-and-date stamping meets Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) standards. An audible alarm warns when readings are outside set points limit. The meter runs on four 1.5V AA batteries (included) or a universal AC adapter (sold separately). It has European Conformity (CE) certification and is dustproof and waterproof, with Ingress Protection 67 (IP67). DO meters are commonly used in water-quality testing applications. Dissolved oxygen (DO) meters measure the amount of dissolved oxygen present in water. The amount of DO helps to determine, for example, drinking water quality, the health of lakes or streams, and aquatic organism sustainability. A probe, also called a sensor or electrode, is inserted into the sample to perform the measurement, and the results appear on the meter display. Applications include sewage and water treatment plants, pollution control, fish farms, and various types of manufacturing. Oakton Instruments manufactures scientific instruments for research, industrial, and educational uses. The company, founded in 1991 and headquartered in Vernon Hills, IL, specializes in meters, electrodes, and transmitters. What’s in the Box?DO 600 meter(4) 1.5 V AA batteries CyberComm 600 Data Acquisition Software (DAS)
