GL850G, Genesys Logic's advanced USB hub, fully adheres to USB 2.0 specifications. Inheriting Genesys Logic's innovative, cost-effective serial interface design, GL850G offers proven compatibility, reduced power consumption, and a superior cost structure. It simplifies board-level design, enabling system integrators to achieve the lowest bill of materials (BOM). GL850G integrates 5V to 3.3V and 3.3V to 1.8V voltage regulators, eliminating the need for external LDOs. Its power enable pin supports both high-enable and low-enable power switches, providing component selection flexibility. An embedded 8-bit RISC processor manipulates control/status registers and responds to USB host requests. GL850G's firmware controls general-purpose I/O (GPIO) to access external EEPROM, responding to the host with customized PID and VID. In the absence of external EEPROM, default settings from internal mask ROM are used. GL850G caters to customers seeking flexibility, with complex settings like PID, VID, and downstream port numbers easily programmable via external EEPROM. Each downstream port supports two-color status LEDs, indicating normal/abnormal status. GL850G supports both Individual and Gang modes for power management. As a full-function solution, it supports Individual/Gang power management modes and two-color status LEDs. The number of downstream ports can be configured via I/O settings without EEPROM. To meet cost/performance requirements, GL850G is a single TT hub solution. Genesys Logic also offers GL852 for multiple TT hub solutions targeting systems needing higher performance for full/low-speed devices.
