Borosilicate glass filter holder assemblies for the microanalysis of liquids for biological or particulate contamination under vacuum. The 47mm holder is the standard size for microbiology and uses a 47mm filter membrane. The anodized aluminum clamp secures the membrane between the funnel and glass base. While the sintered glass frit support base can be used for general filtration, the 304 stainless steel screen(w/ PTFE gasket) is recommended for viscous or proteinaceous solutions to maximize flow rate and the screen ensures particles will not be shed into the filtrate. The PTFE support can filter acidic solutions at a higher flow rate. Available in four graduated funnel capacities 100, 300, 500, or 1000 mL. The No.8 silicone stopper mounts in a standard 1L vacuum filter flask or manifold cup.

  • Standard size for microbiology
  • The optional 2" glass extension allows for physical separation of the 47mm filters set up in series
  • Samples can be processed through successively smaller pore size filters and collected samples can be analyzed separately
